Summary

Socur S.A., in alliance with Montes del Plata, acquires six hydrogen trucks (FCEV Hyundai Xcient) for forestry transport in Río Negro, as part of an integral green hydrogen production project led by Kahirós (Naspuy S.A.), which includes an electrolyzer, solar panels, storage tanks and a hydroline station.

Impact

The project introduces for the first time in Uruguay the use of hydrogen trucks in heavy cargo transportation, providing a key innovation for the second energy transition. Its implementation validates this technology in the forestry logistics chain and generates lessons that can be replicated in other productive sectors.

The development of a strategic communication component is offered to mitigate possible negative perceptions, along with the monitoring of impact and gender indicators.
